  2. Hello friends! Today during the fridge activity I chose fridge C1, LG LFX28991 [ST] based on price, temperature performance, water dispenser, and energy cost. My top 4 fridges that I was choosing from were C1 (LG), C3 (LG), C6 (LG), and C13 (Kenmore). I chose C1 because it wasn't too expensive ($2, 800) but it wasn't so cheap that the quality is horrible. Every fridge I chose had an excellent temperature performance rating and an external water dispenser, so there wasn't much room for negotiation between those fridges. The energy cost for the fridge I chose was substantially lower than the other fridges ($54 compared to the others, $67 and $71). Overall, fridge C1 was the best choice because it wasn't the lowest quality fridge, but it wasn't the highest quality either- it was a happy medium. I'm looking forward to seeing your decisions. See you on Wednesday!

    1. I picked the C1 as one of my fridges too! I also picked fridges with only "excellent" temp performances because I felt like it helped narrow down my choices and helped me make a decision.

    2. I also used to energy cost per year to help me pick my final fridge. I narrowed it down to two fridges and picked the one with the lower energy price because it will save me more money.

    3. Cost was important to me when I chose my fridge. I wanted something cheap, but not so cheap that the quality is bad and I did not want an extremely expensive appliance. My fridge, number A3, is a good deal for $1,100.

  3. Hi everyone! So the fridge I ended up choosing was C2, the Samsung RF261B1AESR. I ended up picking this fridge by following the PACED decision making process. So obviously, my problem was I needed to pick a fridge. The possible options were all of the fridges listed. My criteria consisted of Price, Temperature Performance, Total Usable Capacity, and Energy Cost per year. Based on those four criterion, I narrowed down my choices of fridges first by only looking at ones that had "excellent" for temp performance. Then, I looked at the ranges of total usable capacity and decided I wanted to have at least 18 cubic feet of space, so that narrowed it down more. At this point, all of my options were between $1500 and $3000, so I felt fine with price. Lastly, I selected the four fridges with the least amount of energy cost per year (All under $55). My fridges were the C1 LG, C2 Samsung, C5 Kenmore and C10 LG. I ended up choosing the Samsung because it wasn't the most expensive, ($2100), had the least energy cost per year out of all of them ($48), and had the most amount of space (18.8 cubic feet). Because I had picked all fridges with "excellent" temp performance it really helped me narrow down my final choice, because I didn't have to worry about that category.

  4. The PACED model really helped me in making fridge decision as it forced me to consider many different aspects of the fridge. Having the chart and filling it out helped me determine all of my options (Alternatives) and consider all factors. I think this was the most helpful step because I was able to read and understand exactly what was included, or not included, and price points for each fridge. The Criteria was what I filled in on the chart. I narrowed down my four fridge choices based on style. I then used price, whether or not it had a water dispenser, how much noise it made, and the energy cost per year to compare the four fridges. I began making my final decision using process of elimination. The C7 Whirlpool did not have an exterior water dispenser so I eliminated that fridge first. The next fridge I eliminated was the C3 LG because of price and I did not like the style as much as the other two I had to chose from. I finally decided on the E1 Samsung because it was a reasonable price and I did not understand why the E2 Bosch cost so much more than the E1.

  5. Hello friends! I ended up choosing the Samsung RF261B1AESR C2, The criteria was the coast, temperature performance, energy efficiency, ease of use, and energy coast. So here i got to solve my problem by picking the right fridge i needed despite the cost. I first looked my how big my family is and the size of the fridge i wanted and the Samsung was best for me.I did not really care about the cost all i needed was a good quality fridge and i think it is.It uses less energy and has big space ans also easy to use not much complicated as others were. This is the best fridge for my family.

  6. The fridge I ended up choosing is E1 Samsung. The criteria I chose for the top fridge was the price, water dispenser, noise, and the energy cost per year. The alternatives I chose from were first decided by the design of the fridge. Once I narrowed down the designs, I chose the fridges that were picked CR best buy. To find the fridge that was the best of the best, using the PACED method was helpful. When I looked at the criteria and alternatives I chose I could eliminate two fridges from the start. I decided to look at the water dispensers first. That to me was important. I wanted one on the outside for sure. Once the C7 and B5 fridges were eliminated, the last two were very similar in design, noise, and the energy cost per year. The price was the only big difference, so because of that I chose the cheaper price. After using the PACED method I ended up with the E1 Samsung fridge as the best fridge for me.

  8. The fridge I chose was number A3, the Whirlpool WRT771REY. I chose this refrigerator because it was a good in the categories most important to me, which were price, temperature performance, noise level, and total usable space. I also picked the Whirlpool because it is a well known, reliable brand with a good reputation. My other options included number A9, Frigidaire; number A6, Haier; and number A4, Haier. I have heard many good things about Whirlpool appliances and negative things about the Haiers and Frigidaire, and this made the higher price worth it to me. I used the PACED method to help me decide on which fridge to purchase.

    1. I agree that higher prices are worth it sometimes because a fridge is something that you will have forever, so when purchasing one you have to ensure that the money you are about to spend is going to a good cause. The quality has to be good compared to the price or the money you're spending will go to waste.

    2. I agree that useable space and temp performance are big parts in the fridge descision

  9. The fridge I chose was D 1, the Samsung. Even though it's for a higher price, I am willing to over look that for the benefits. It has excellent noise, meaning it's quiet. It's the biggest, so it would fit everything I need in there easily. I wouldn't have to constantly struggle for space to put food. On top of that, it's energy efficient, so I can save money on electricity. I used the PACED to make a choice to pick my fridge. Overall, I would pay more to have a good/better fridge.

  10. hi guys! ended I choose C6 LG LFX33975ST. Temperature performance, Energy efficiency and noise they are excellent. The model is a good choice, although it is a little pricy. The average price of these models is about $3000. But since it is a very high quality and we'll working fridge, I rather spend more money now than pay for repairs on another refrigerator.‏

    1. I agree with you, but there may be some repaire in the future just not as much with probably a more expensive fridge.

  11. The fridge I chose was D1 (Samsung T9000) and I based that on price, noise, energy efficiently, and water dispenser. I chose this fridge out of the 3 other fridges I had and this one seem to fit what I wanted, even tho it's $3500 it's which seems to be a little pricey, but the more you'd pay the less you might have to fix it later one. Everything on the fridge is excellent and the water dispenser is on the outside didn't matter to me. The paced model helped me make my decision by putting into a table format to make it easier to read and see the difference.

  12. I chose the D1 Samsung. I chose it because it ranked excellent in temperature performance, energy efficiency, and noise. My second choice was the C3 LG refrigerator which was $3000, $500 less than the Samsung. However, I stuck with the Samsung because I liked the four-door French-door style as opposed to just the French-door model. I liked the PACED system because the grid format laid all of my options out in an organized way, and it gave me a good side by side comparison. It help me think out my choice instead of simply choosing the one that looked the best to me.

    1. I liked the D1 samsung as well, but I think the four door french style lacks practicality so that's why I didn't choose it.

    2. I also went with a higher priced option because I decided that I would be willing to pay for the extra space. Like Aisha, I also thought the four-door french-door style may be more difficult to use, but it is a nice look.

  13. I chose the my fridge based on price, noise, temperature performance, total usable space, and repair percentage. Based on these areas i thought the C5 Kenmore 771603 fit the best for what i wanted. It had a medium price at $1700 dollars. In the noise, and temp performance it got an excellent rating, helping with my choice. it has 17.5 total useable space, and an avergae repair rate of 12%

  14. I chose the Bosch Linea 800. My main criteria, besides price, were energy efficiency, energy cost/year, and the need for a water dispenser. I organized my criteria from most important to least important, and made sure that my fridge of choice met at least my top three requirements which were: reasonable price, energy efficient, and had a pretty low energy cost/year. All of the fridges which were my alternative met the top three criteria, and so I looked to my other criteria: an exterior water dispenser. All of my alternatives met all requirements so then I defaulted to perhaps a less important determinant factor; the design of the fridge. I like the sleek look of the side by side refrigerators so ultimately that is why I chose the Bosch Linea, since all of my options fulfilled all my criteria.

  15. I compared the C4 Kenmore, the C7 Whirlpool, the C13 Kenmore and the E4 Frigidaire. Out of the four options I decided to go with the C$ Kenmore. In the end, the excellent noise review and extra usable space resulted in my decision that the somewhat higher price was worth it. By using PACED, I knew that I needed to decide on a refrigerator that was right for me, consider my top four options, decide what factors were the most important to me (price, noise, usable space and energy cost/year) and look at how those factors matched up with each product.
