  1. Hello friends! In my opinion, motivation is the most important determinant of wealth because without motivation, you won't get anywhere. Luck is the least important because you can't control it in any way, and you don't work for it at all. I am a firm believer in working to get things, and I think that luck is a stupid excuse for lazy success. Motivation, effort, and skill tie into each other perfectly because you need motivation to put in effort, and when effort is put into something for a while, you typically become skillful at the task at hand. Luck is great if you're the one who has it, but people that motivate themselves, put in the effort, and develop skills to further themselves in life are the ones, in my opinion, that will go the farthest. I can't wait to hear what you guys have to say! Have a good weekend :)

    1. I totally agree with your idea of Luck. I also think it's just a "stupid excuse for lazy success". It's something we can't control so I don't find it important at all.

    2. I completely agree that you need motivation to put in effort, because if you aren't motivated to complete a task why put in the effort?

    3. I agree with you because you need motivation to keep working. But if you don't have any skill at what you are doing you are going to keep being disappointed by the outcome of what happens.

    4. I too agree that luck is an excuse. Just because you were born into a wealthy family does not guaratee a comfortable future always. If that makes sense...

    5. I also agree, I think that luck is an excuse. People that rely on luck for everything are lazy and have no motivation to actually work and put effort into reaching their goals.

    6. I agree- without motivation you get nowhere.

  2. Hey guys! I think out of all four determinants of wealth, Effort is the most important. I think it's the most important because it is REGARDLESS of skill. Effort is something ANYONE can do, whether they have a lot of skills or not. This is important because it is the determinant I find to be "the level playing field" in wealth. For example, even if you ended up in a poor financial situation, (low class) and you had poor math skills, you could still move up in the wealth game because you tried to improve your situation. In life I think this is important because it shows how no matter what situation you were born into, you can be just as equal as everyone else by trying. For example, even if you aren't able to afford college and have poor academic skills, if you study really hard and put in enough effort, there's a possibility for you to gain a full ride academic scholarship to a college. This proves how ANYONE can move up in life just by putting in effort, which is why I think it is the most important determinant.

    1. I totally agree with you. Effort is fully controlled by the person and no one can stop someone from trying their hardest. The more effort you put in, the better the results will be.

    2. I agree. Hard work really does pay off and the amount of effort you put in says so much about a person; it shows how badly you may want something and how hard you are willing to work for it. Hard work does not go unnoticed and those who put in the most effort will see better results.

  3. The most important determinant of wealth is motivation, because motivation is the combination of desire and drive. Luck, ability, and effort, regardless of their importance, aren't vital to success. This is because motivation connects us to our desires (why do you want something to begin with?), and without any desire to achieve a goal; luck, ability, and effort are all misplaced. For example I was lucky enough to be born with hands, I can juggle (a little), and I can put forth the effort to be a professional juggler. However, since I have no desire, and by extension no motivation I will never be a professional juggler . Our desire and motivation are also a prerequisite to us putting forth any effort, and therefore without motivation or the desire to achieve something why even try? It is clear motivation is imperative to wealth and success, because it is controlled by our desires, and human desire is powerful.

    1. I agree that motivation is important but so is effort. without effort its just running on empty. Not really going anywhere.

    2. I agree with motivation being the most important. I like how you put our motivation as our desire. We all have wants and desires, but without the push of motivation will we be able to reach our desires?

    3. I agree that motivation is the most important. I love your example of the juggler because it truly shows how we do have the luck, skill, and effort to complete many tasks, but it is motivation that really gets us there.

  4. I believe it takes Effort. If you try very hard at work and try to make something of your life can help you make more. As well, Motivation is important. You have to have the motivation to do the effort. If you have no motivation to improve, then you wont improve.

    2. I defiantly agree with you that everything in life needs effort and motivation to do anything you want. If you don't have either of those your not gonna make it very far.

  6. Hi! In my opinion skill is the most important because if you give something a lot of effort that you are not good at it will not turn out that well. I think skill is the top one because if you learn a skill you will have that for forever. Luck that's iffy because not everyone is lucky but some people are fortunate to have luck. Motivation is another important one but how can you be motivated if you are not good at something? The thing about skill is you could be skilled in anything from communicating with people or working on cars. If your good at a skill you are going to make a lot of money because you know what you are doing and you have trained for it.

  7. Hey! guys, i think skills is important, because in everything you need skills to have good communication skills. You need to know how to use good language while trying to get people. The skills you have will be like an expereance and you know how you work with people you need to to know what people like . So if you are good at a skill you are going to make a lot of money because you have trained for it

    1. I definitely agree with you- skills are important, especially communication skills. A lot of the time you can talk your way through something and work together with others in a way that makes everything a little easier on both of you. In most cases, I think that communication makes even the hardest situations a little more comfortable.

  8. I believe effort is the most important determinant of wealth. What you put in is what you will get out. Skill also a big part of it, but skill stems from effort; you acquire skill through effort put in. I have seen and experienced hard work and effort pay off and I strongly believe effort is required to be successful. You need to be willing to try new things, embrace new ideas, and continue to learn and educate yourself in order to achieve success, and this is done by putting effort into all aspects of your life. Everyone is able to put effort in, whereas luck and skill can be a little more out of a persons control. Effort is the most important determinant of wealth and it is fun to watch the effort pay off.

  9. I believe that both motivation and effort are the most important to be because if you don't put any effort in life then what kind of motivation are you gonna have to do so. If you don't have to motivation to go to school to get a degree in something you wanna do then your also not putting in the effort to even try to do anything with your life. I personally have the motivation and I'm putting in effort to finish high school, get my diploma and go to college to make myself a better person.

  10. To me motivation is the most important determinant of wealth. Having motivation creates a faster path to the end goal. Motivation sparks the flame that starts it all. In help with reaching the final destination, motivation leads the way as skill and effort follow close behind. With the push of motivation, it is easier to put effort into the journey to reach the destination; also motivation can help with the improvment with skill over time. Motivation doesn't let the spark of the flame go out and quit on us. Everyone has motivation deep down to help them with their journey to their final destination.

  11. Motivation is the will and desire to start something and effort is the amount of work put into a project to achieve a goal. I think motivation and effort are equally important because motivation is required to want to begin a project and effort is needed to continue working. For example, I am motivated to work on my projects and get them done the right way, therefore I put in effort to accomplish my goals.

  12. I think motivation is the most important because with out it, you won't get anything done or started. You won't have the drive to push forward. Along with that, I think skill is also important because you have to know what you're doing. It does you no good if you're motivated, but don't know what's going on. To continue, I would say luck is the least important because there's nothing you can do to control it. You just take what comes your way. Even if you're extremely lucky, that doesn't necessarily guarantee that you'll get wealthy

  13. I think motivation, effort, and skill are important because they are necessary to make profit and run a successful business. If lose your motivation, you will not want to put the right amount of effort into your work. If your effort declines, then you will not be able to obtain a higher level of skill. Effort, skill, and motivation are crucial elements when it comes to running a successful business.

  14. For me, effort is the most important determinant of wealth. Yes, having the necessary skills and the motivation to succeed are also extremely important. However, it is what someone does with those factors and the amount of work they are willing to put in that determines their success. Effort is so important because those who try the hardest are the most likely to have the best results. Also, if someone does not have natural skills, they have to put in the effort to develop those skills and also work to utilize them once they have been developed.

  15. I believe that, for me personally, motivation is the most important determinant of wealth. Normally, whatever the situation, I can complete tasks as long as I feel they are necessary. In school, the "busy work" we are given isn't very high quality because I don't see the value of it. In contrast, when finals come rolling around, and I am motivated by the high percentage of my grade that they will play, I tend to increase my effort and build my skills to compensate for that. Luck is probably the least valuable to me because I can't control it, as we saw in class.

  16. i believe that effort and skill are the top two determinants. some skills you can be born with, but if you aren't its okay because you can learn a skill. like if you really wanted a career but you need a certain skill you can learn it to make money and be happy with the outcome. But you cant just have skill you have to have the effort to go with it. you need to put yourself out there and be noticed, and it also takes effort to learn a skill
